I've been wondering this since we've barely had any new information on anything aside from that one sighting of the prototype Garudamon figure

I'd be very disappointed if it went out before they got to make lilymon, zudomon, gallantmon and beelzemon since they were already planned

It's likely done, but that they spent most of the last year doing setup marketing for the movie means things may have simply been delayed.

So, probably done, but it's always possible we will hear something in the next few months.

Given that Bandai has repeatedly abandoned other action figure lines with prototypes in the works means that it's most likely dead, which is a shame. I feel like at this point if it were to come back it would be a new line with a new gimmick, but who knows. I'd love to see the line finish properly.

It does appear to be dead, or at least dormant for now. Maybe if the movie is successful they'll push out one or two more before killing it entirely. I'd love to see that Garudamon someday. But all toy companies make proto-types that never see a final release, and there are multiple reasons for that. I think the reason for these is it was primarily targeted for a Japanese audience and were too expensive to sell well in the USA, plus Alphamon and Tailmon were awful examples of the shell forming that I think pushed a lot of people away. Had they started with Tentomon and Patamon the line would probably be doing quite well right now.

Given what Bandai is doing with DBZ and what happened prior to the Lightning Collection, there may even be a Western attempt at collector-aimed Digimon figures.

What is Bandai (Bandai America I assume) doing with DBZ? I don't follow that franchise. Their Power Rangers Legacy line was a give or take, megazords weren't too bad (minus Dino Megazord), the morphers were decent, but the figures and helmets were awful. I am impressed with what Hasbro has done with the Lightning Collection, both figures and helmet, but could use some work, and still waiting on zords and morphers. But I have yet to hear about Bandai America returning to Digimon merchandise. Did they even have a hand in the 20th anniversary digivice?

They did a series of figures akin to Marvel Legends for DBZ.

Interesting. Are they any good? I often see Bandai Japan DBZ figures at Barnes and Noble, but I never see any DBZ figures other stores. The only Bandai America toys I've seen are the Godzilla toys.

On the other hand, at least Spirits got out more figures than D-Arts, Digimon Reboot, and the like. Plus it even included females, villains, and HerakleKabuterimon, something other lines were never able to do, if they ever thought of it.

It did not include HerculesKabuterimon. It included MegaKabuterimon.

Oh. Also, I think they might get some more out thanks to the Adventure remake.

Provided they use the same evolutions of course.

I dont think evolutions lines will change from the original but will probably see the Mega forms make more of an impact instead of just Wargreymon and MetalGarurumon. I do want to see Seraphimon SHINE.
